Sponsored Programs Basics

A collaborative presentation involving Sponsored Programs and The Controller’s Office covering pre-award and post-award issues including how to locate funding, develop a budget and submit a proposal. Financial matters including setting up your account, cost transfers and other regulatory issues will also be addressed.

Industry Contracting

We will investigate the unique aspects of Industry Contracting and address the problematic terms and conditions that every PI should be aware of. We will also address how avoiding these terms and conditions can significantly reduce the risk and liability to the PI as well as the university.

Grants.gov

One of the 24 E-Government initiatives is to provide a simple, unified electronic storefront for interactions between grant applicants and the Federal agencies that manage grant funds.  In this workshop, topics will include the background and history of grants.gov and how grants.gov can benefit USU.  Specific information will be offered on the application processes and forms, navigation through grants.gov applications, transition from the Pure Edge Forms to PDF Forms, lessons learned and how to survive the grants.gov submission process.
