David Wiley
David Wiley is director of the Center for Open and Sustainable Learning and associate professor of Instructional Technology at Utah State University. His teaching, research and service activities focus on increasing access to educational opportunity throughout the world, and he is an internationally recognized expert in this area. Wiley is the author of dozens of journal articles and book chapters, editor of three books, and has been PI or Co-PI on over $7 million in externally funded research while at USU. Wiley recently gave invited testimony to U.S. Secretary of Education Spellings' Commission on the Future of Higher Education, is a recipient of a National Science Foundation CAREER grant, and has been a Nonresident Fellow at the Stanford Center for Internet and Society and Visiting Scholar at the Open University of the Netherlands. His work has been positively reviewed in national media including the New York Times, Washington Post, CNN Money, The Economist, Time, the Christian Science Monitor, Inside Higher Ed, and the Chronicle of Higher Education; in local media including the Salt Lake Tribune, Deseret News, and the Herald Journal; and in international media including The Hindu, the London Financial Times, and the Globe and Mail.
