Graduate Research Symposium

9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. | Merrill-Cazier Library South Atrium

The Graduate Research Symposium is a training-focused event for graduate students to get acquainted with the professional conference format and to compete in categories for the best poster along with other presentation awards. The symposium includes a combination of poster and oral presentation sessions. During the symposium, students are judged on the content of their presentations, but they are also coached on the method of their presentations and will be given tips on how they can increase the effectiveness of their communication.

Graduate Research Training Series

11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. | Merrill-Cazier Library Room 101

The Graduate Research Training series was launched this academic year for the first time to give graduate students the monthly opportunity to attend workshops on special topics throughout the year. The last of these events will be held during Research Week. It will include light refreshments and the opportunity to view a live feed of oral presentation sessions from the Graduate Research Symposium.

 

 

Research Scholars Forum

1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. | Merrill-Cazier Library Room 101

The Research Scholars Orientation and Forums are an interactive learning experience associated with the Research Scholars Certification Program, providing an in-depth look at record keeping, data ownership and data management. They are an integral part of the Responsible Conduct of Research training, and they will be of interest to every graduate student and postdoctoral fellow who plans to publish their research or other scholarly work.
